So I am experiencing a random 2-day closure of my most mature frag of GSP and I'm looking for some thoughts. Aquarium is a 24ga JBJ Nanotube. Here are some noteworthy events leading up to the closure:
-Wednesday - I added 5 new GSP frags, sourced from the same store the senior (problematic) frag came from. All frags have been mounted to the back wall. All the new frags extended their polyps the day after being introduced.
-Friday - weekly WC of 3 gallons. Parameters tested prior to WC:
35.2 salinity
8.0 pH
5.0ppm nitrate
8.0 dkh
.13 ppm phosphate (still dosing phosguard to attempt to maintain this value <.1ppm)
1530 ppm Mg
428 ppm Ca
-Saturday - most mature did not extend by morning light schedule
-Sunday - frag remains closed. All other corals look happy. I also removed an Avast Marine Plank auto feeder that has been slightly shading the frag in question. I was thinking to maximize light exposure. So far no change. I also took a turkey baster to blow off the frag.
Not really panicking here, but I naturally curious about what might be going on with this frag. Logic tells me it must be something unique to the piece since every other coral appears happy, but I'm not an expert. Please give me your thoughts! TIA.
