Randow flow and coral growth

I've been reading some articles/posts about constant flow vs random flow. Can one justify the cost of a vortech mp40 for the growth of corals? Or is this negligible. What are your experiences?

I've seen my coral color and polyp extension improve with the addition of strong, random flow (3 tunze 6105s), but growth didn't change perceptibly. Based on that, I'd think that it would be hard to justify the cost of a vortech mp40 versus several other less expensive but fairly powerful pumps with controllers.

Now for coral growth, I'd say I probably could justify the purchase of a good dosing pump, because that stability really has impacted growth.

I noticed considerable difference in polyp extension, color, growth and overall health and happiness of not just my corals, but my fish as well when I added a Vortech. i thought there was no way they could be worth the money. I was wrong. It's worth every penny.

they also buy it because only one side sits in the tank and u get alot of flow from one unit instead of have 3-4 bulky powerheads in the tank which looks horible and takes up alot of room.

The noise doesn't bother you?

Sometimes, but rarely. Keep in mind, this is comparing to everything else which is dead silent. Anyone who comes over - who has a tank - can't believe how quiet it is with everything under the tank. So, I am talking very minor levels.

That being said, not sure I would want one running in my bedroom while i was sleeping, but with 2 pumps, a fan, a skimmer, a canister, a reactor and a vortech running, the noise level is very low.

mine arent to bad .i sorta like the little buzz from them just a little fail safe thing i know they are working.
justifying the price id do it again i use two MP10 wES in nutrient mode my tank loves it SPS and fish. the fish always are in the current of them doing their thing. pe is great also on my SPS.only prob is my clam, even on the bottom there is to much current for it.having a hard time placing it.
