I had an Occelaris clown that was wild caught and quarantined for 3 weeks and then put into the display tank with another perfectly healthy clown. As soon as I had put the new clown in the tank, I noticed the clowns color was pale to whitish; the clowns were together for about 3 days and the newer clowns complexion got paler and clearly more white in color accompanied with rapid breathing. I did a FW dip with methylene blue and put that clown in a QT. He did not make it through that night.
I knew I needed to treat the remaining clown but did not. It has been about a month and a half and for about 8 or 9 days, the remaining clown seems to display continuious rapid breathing; and I am not 100 percent certain, but possibly his face seems brighter than before. He is still eating but I suspect he is affected by some sort of protazoan in his gills.
I am considering a formaline dip followed by hypo salinity. Any suggestions?
