Rapid LED fixtures

I have a question for anyone who has used a rapid led fixture on a 28 gallon JBJ nano cube. What brightness levels did you start off with to acclimate you tank to the new lighting. Would it be ok to start off at 50% for a midday level or will it be ok to start at 100% or somewhere in between. From what i've read already I don't think it will be a good idea to start off at 100%. Maybe 75%??? What do ya'll think????

I have the BC29 kit which is pretty similar. I'd recommend starting at 50% and work your way up, unless you have access to a PAR meter and can compare to your old setup. My BC29 and LEDs are only a few months old so take that with a grain of salt. The amount of current your putting through will also make a difference.

My current setup...White string, 6 cool white + 6 natural white 75% @ .9A. Blue string, 6 royal blue + 6 Blue 75% @ .95A. I am ramping up the Blue string by a 5% every other day, with the goal of 100%.

When I recently checked the PAR I had both string at 70%, PAR in the center about 5" deep was 525, at the sand along the sides it was 150.

Thanks phryan that article was really helpful. I'm thinking I will start at 50 percent unless I can find someone with a Par meter then I'll just adjust to match my current lighting and move up from there. All the supplies should be coming in next week so i'm pretty stoked about finally getting to switch to Leds.

I have a biocube 29 and got the rapidled kit about 7-8 months ago. Best investment I ever made. My picture taking skills are terrible but your welcome to check out my build thread on my local forum if you'd like. I primarily have SPS in the tank along with two clams. Definitely not a problem with these kits. I'm currently in a growout contest with a green slimmer frag and am smoking the competition.

Noob the tank looks good i'm excited to hear I could possibly keep sps corals with the led setup.

Having a small tank with SPS is great! I haven't been so happy with any of my tank builds other than this one. I've liked the others but love this one. Well other than the aptasia but I just got 16 nudibranches to help with that one..LOL
