Just bought a Biocube with the Rapid LED retro kit off of a local guy yesterday.
It has 2 Mean Well ELN-60-48D drivers and 2 pots to control each of 2 channels. He has the drivers and the pots in a tupperware container instead of in the hood, which I'm good with to keep electronics away from the tank.
He demonstrated to me at his house that both the Blue and White controls were working fine before I transferred it home. When I got home, I plugged it in and everything came on fine. But when I adjust the white channel pot, it blinks (about 1 hz) at any setting between about 10% and 90% of knob travel. It works fine at full blast and fine at the lower dim settings. All LEDs are lighting up, so it's not a case of one being out.
I understand the drivers blinking is indicating an under or overcurrent setting. But if that's the case, I would have thought it would tend to occur at the extremes rather than the opposite (only blinking in the middle 80% of the range).
I don't know much about the driving of LEDs, so I was hoping someone on here could help in diagnosing this issue. Again, it was working at this guys house, but not my house, and only the white channel. I tried to make sure all the wire connections were solid and noticed no issues there.
I can only think of 2 things that changed between his house and mine. The move itself could have jostled something, or the electrical properties of my house could be slightly different.
If there was a disconnect, then I would have expected something just to not work. I suppose a short could cause this.
Any help would be appreciated!
