donovansreef, mr.ugly, and makoj have got the idea. these are the harder to fine "flashier blastos" i was refering to at the start of this thread. the "blue blastos" i have look like the ones mrschriskim posted earlier in the thread. he's right, they do look more light sky blue and purple then anything.

Thanks for posting that Mako. An old crappy photo I took. Pic doesn't show them super well, they were "laced" instead of rings and you see back to the right some had almost Acan type markings.
They were sweet....a lesson in not to sell ALL of a colony, to always keep at least one frag...I didn't.
Someone offered me five bills for that small colony and it was promptly shipped off! LOL

Or is this a better photo? When I look close with the lens I can see it has those tiny bits that are like little tentacles. These are dime sized or a couple dimes side by side. Funny thing the one that looked best before is now all curled up and the others are lying nicely. I suppose it is doubling maybe?
I tried to get a picture of the curled up one to show the base color but my camera doesn't capture the teal color. The top is purple with green running over the ridges. The mouth appears to be purple too.
Oh, and apparently they can remove themselves from their rock at will and reattach elsewhere, as one of them did. I think I had it too close to the light.
Anyone seen these before?

I don't know if these are even blasto's as they grew out of some live rock that had some red blasto's on it. the whole colony of them is only about 1/2" at this time as you can tell by the mysid shrimp it is eating.
If it is not a blasto and you know what it is by the bad picture please let me know. It is truely one of my favorites as it is very colorful. my picture taking skills are way below average also but you can tell from the picture it has a pink middle with greenish skirt and brown and other colors mixed in it.

its really hard to tell from the pic what youve got there chads29. if they are blastos theyd deffinently fall into the "flashy" catagory. have a fellow reefer snap off a few detailed clear pics so we can get a proper id for you.
