I was at my lfs and I seen a rbta with a purple foot is this commen? In a rbta ? It was like a regular rose with green but with a bright purple foot bubble tiped and all she said it was a Tonga rbta ? And no I'm sure it wasn't a ritteri with purple foot.

Seen/had both green bta with purple column and rbta with purple column. I'd say they're less common for sure.

Is it $200 uncommon? Cause that's what they we selling for. According to the lfs you cant get those no more cause they come from Tonga

BTA "rareness" is not really the foot color but the tentacles and tentacle tips..

is it worth $200? that's totally up to you.. I personally wouldn't do it unless the tentacle colors look amazing.

post a pix!

a lot of rare BTA morphs have dark red/purple-ish foot. price go from $200-$2000, totally depending on tentacle colors

I disagree with column not adding to rareness, but obviously it's a total package/ color combo thing that would make one more or less common. I guess I don't see nearly as many true purple columns as tan/red/maroon. Buy maybe it's my location. That being said Def not 200 uncommon. I'm thinking extra 20-30bucks uncommon haha.

The main take away from all of this; Take photos...take lots of photos! But ask the shop first, some get upset

I agree with taking lot of photos. can't make any decision without it

if they are trying to sell for $200, there's no way they won't let you take pix.. I would walk out if they refuse to let me.

$200 can get you a Colorado Sunburst. so compare that one with a sunburst and see if it's worth it.

Yes the color combo was sick ! If it wasn't so much I would have snatched it up

If you go to OC anytime soon visit Seaside Tropical. They have nice RBTAs on special for $35.99. You won't be disappointed with color or size for the price.

I have a fire rainbow bta that has a BRIGHT purple foot and in my opinion it's much more uncommon for a bta to have a purple foot, no not red or reddish brown but bright purple. I absolutely love it but I do have to agree with the folks above that the tentacle color is what matters most but if you can hit the jackpot like I did and land a bta with both colored foot and amazing tentacle color then you found yourself a gem! Good luck

BTAs with a purple foot are not really uncommon. They add about $10 wholesale, so $200 is way overpriced. They may come from Tonga. but they come from everywhere else too.

In addition, when the anemones get relaxed in your tank the color tends to fade a bit. Like someone else said, it should be maybe $20-$25 more than an anemone of similar tentacle color.

Your LFS probably paid about $30 each for them (at least that's what they go for down here), so either they got ripped off, or they are waiting for a sucker.
