Rare yellow masked zebra angel

I just got this angel in didnt know what to expect but what I recieved was a yellow masked zebra ,very unusual fish. I tried looking it up cant find any info on him. Im sure its reef safe as most japanese swallow are. I orginally ordered a zebra angel but recieve this one instead. I will try and take a pic

Should be a good reef fish. Once acclimated, it should be very hardy.

It could be a red sea zebra too.

How about a pic?

Looks nice. Try and get him a girlfriend. People have had males turn back into females when a female is not around.

i kept a pair for about a year in my reef tank (79-80 degrees) until my tank crash about a year ago. ive been looking for another pair since. one of my favorite fish, especially the male. good find and good luck. heavy eaters, ive found the best success while treating most genicanthus angels like anthias. feed cyclopeez with your normal food.

I couldn't open the picture but if it is indeed a male semifasciatus then you did real well. These fish have never been real plentiful in the trade and lately have been almost unobtainable.
Where did you get him if you don't mind me asking.

Has anyone been in exotic aquatics lately? If so does he still have that pair of red sea zebra angels?

Here you go Del

I had a pair of these for a while. The male eventually killed the female and then started to turn into a female itself. It eventually died from a heater malfunction.

Exotic Aquatic has a female to this now as well as a large female watanabe angel.....but he sold Both pair of the Red Sea zebras a few weeks back....Right now he just has in several rare wrases and larger angels(scribed, blueline and personifer) I did get a nice Venustus Angel in there last week! Its eating and everything! so far so good! Back to the fish in the post...I love it if my tank was bigger! I like different things that everyone doesnt have...But my favorites are the Bellus and female Watanabe!

That one looks like a young male to me. It will get a slightly different shape to it as it matures and the colors/bars will get more distinct.

I would find him a female ASAP or you risk it turning back to a female himself.

The LFS here has had several pairs of these in the last year. Always stunning.
