During my big upgrade I had the opportunity to buy a good sized Beckett skimmer. I jumped on this as I had heard of the fabled foam making power, and with a high fish load I figured I could put this to good use.
Little did I know that Becketts can wear out, and develope what can be described as the death rattle. I began the quest to track down some replacements and well just found out how futile this is. Now being a MRC skimmer I can break down and buy 2 injector assemblies, with new Becketts for 150 each. Being in Canada this 300 purchase after shipping and currancy exchange will cost me more then the skimmer, I now know why I got such a good deal on it.
I have read about using super glue to fill in the erosion, but this is only a temporary fix.
For a more permanent fix I have found some high grade titanium sheet/foil .005" thick. I'm hoping that I can both line the socket and then wrap the "arrow" tabs, slowly building this up until I get a tight rattle free injector.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has tried anything like this, or can foresee any issues with this?
