Mine wasn't so stressed from a long trip but I went 1 1/2 hours. Test the salinity of the bag it comes in first and see how close your water is. If you can clamp the bag in your sump so the water temps can balance it would be better. While it is clamped in your sump, start a slow 1 drip/second then speed it up. If you don't trust their water then you can remove a little water from the bag as it fills up with your water until all of their water has been replaced. If you can scoop it out in a cup an then put it in your tank so it is not exposed to the air it will really help to avoid stress.
TMI? Hope this helps.
I just got a GBTA. I floated the bag for 20 minutes with all lights off in the room. I then put it in a bucket and started the drip. When the water volume doubled, i took half out and continued again until it doubled. Took half out and continued again until it doubled. This took about 2 hours. I then took the bucket and poured all of the water out except a very small amount and drained the remaining water into a large cup. Dumped this into the tank. Keep in mind the lights were off the whole time. I used a flashlight with a red bulb because someone told me that fish can't see red light? Either way it is much less bright than regular white. So put the nem in the tank and let it hang out in there overnight with the lights off. I kept the lights off for part of the next day with a towel over the tank and then took the towel off to allow daylight in. Let the nem get used to that for about 5 hours and then turned my lights on. That may be a bit of overkill but it was my first nem so I wanted make sure I did it right. It is still getting used to the tank and doing some really wierd things. I thought it was dead last night because it was all shriveled up into a little ball and when I woke up this morning it was completely inflated. I even tried to feed it last night and it the tentacles didn't even move. It looks great this morning. Don't get discouraged if your nem looks a little wierd the first week or so. Everyone told me this but it was alot harder to grasp when I was actually in the moment. I fed mine the day after I got it home and then every three days since. Seems to be fine. Good luck. I wish I had an RBTA instead of a G. Keep us posted (no pun intended).
