Went to my lfs with a bagful of yellow polyps I've been meaning to get rid off...kinda surprised when he said 30$ store credit..so a couple hours later here I am with first anemone..he seems fine now just moving..been in the tank about two hours now lights shut off and my main power head..my ? I ask is..is it safe to turn the power head back on...my lfs advice me to start him at the bottom so I did..he's at the opposite end of the pw..trying to make sure I don't hurt it or something

Ok currently unattached atm but was just attached...he seems to be waking I guess..so as soon as he attaches again pw on?

What you think

Looks nice and healthy. Imo as long as you can watch him turn the powerhead on because even after he attaches and then you turn it on it may walk again cause it didnt like that spot after the flow is back on, may as well leave everything on and let it do its thing. Make sure to cover the powerheads till it does finally settle in though

Ok pw on he seems to take it fine..I would of thought he would start floating away..don't really have nothing to cover the pw with..what I do know it will.meet my mh in the morning so I expect it to move

Lights just came on... he seems pretty happy not stressed out but like most nems he decided to go in the back of the tank..hopefully he decides to come out soon...what you guys think

Correct, feeding rbtas is not necessary, they will get all they need from your light source (as long as its sufficient).

No feeding isn't necessary unless they aren't healthy and yours looks very healthy.

You can feed them mysis shrimp or small pieces of raw fish or raw table shrimp both of which you can buy at the local grocery store in the frozen food section. Cut pieces small about the size of a #2 pencil eraser or a tad bigger. They grow much quicker when they are fed. I feed mine twice a week raw shrimp.

If you do a Google search you might come across people recommending to feed them silversides... Do NOT feed them. There have been quite a few people end up with sick or dead anemones from feeding them. The problem seems to be bacteria in the silversides from thawing and refreezing. Just a caution to be forewarned about.

That's what I thought..I have some mysis shrimp which I will try today do I feed like I would a Sun coral and just spray it over it..as far as the raw shrimp I can grab at my local wm..I'm guessing the smallest size shrimp is what I should pick up correct..they don't have fresh just frozen bags..
So this is where he'll be living..no clown fish for him but maybe my bangaii will get along with him...what you guys think as far as stinging wise will I be safe..

Thanks again

Yes, you can use a turkey baster to spray mysis shrimp over your rbta and it should stick to the tentacles and then the rbta will bring towards its mouth. The size of the shrimp you buy doesnt really matter bc you can always cut the shrimp to the size needed (just make sure its uncooked).

Pick up which ever is cheapest per lb on RAW shrimp, do not get cooked shrimp. If they are big just cut them in pieces about the size of a #2 pencil eraser and feed it one or two of them. The tentacles will be sticky and as soon as the shrimp touches it will stick and the anemone will bring it to it's mouth. I also remove the shell makes digestion easier.
