rbta advice needed

Yes thawed. I do cut them up while frozen its much easier.

I've got 4 BTA's and a pair of Percula clowns that don't have anything to do with any of them. Maybe one day the'll wake up and say "Hey, I'm an anemone fish" :lmao:

Cool thanks..Will he pick a spot within days or can it take about a month or even longer

That depends, usually within a couple days it will find a spot. But if your water parameters are no good, flow is to strong it will stay walking tring to find a spot.

This is him from like 15 minutes ago..still in the same spot but from the foot he seems to have moved a little..only thing I really see happening is that he's getting wider and tentacles becoming long losing the bulb..what you guys think...

Fed it something mysis and seemed to like it...didn't feed it much just a little to see what it would do..so what you guys think so far

If you do a Google search you might come across people recommending to feed them silversides... Do NOT feed them. There have been quite a few people end up with sick or dead anemones from feeding them. The problem seems to be bacteria in the silversides from thawing and refreezing. Just a caution to be forewarned about.

+1 on this. I lost 3x nems to feeding silversides. NO NO NO

I currently have a RBTA in QT. looks it has settled in and I can see it prefers a LOW FLOW area. so now I know where in the DT I should place to prevent it from going on "walkabout" ;-)

I was hoping it would settle on a rock I placed in the QT so would be easier to get into the DT after the QT period... we'll see.

What a gorgeous RBTA how big is it?

I Think a sticky should be made to stay on this page about the feeding of silversides. Would you please post a thread to document what you went through and we can ask a mod to sticky it?

Wow Indymann that's beautiful...thanks for sharing...let us see a pic once in your dt if you don't mind.mines still won't take the move hes still in the same spot .

13 days in..same location just been leaving him alone and just feeding a couple times..he seems to be stinging the elephant ear mushrooms a bit...is it to early to say this is his home?

Ask for "BAY SHRIMP" at your supermarket in the fish section, they are tiny prawn, about the perfect size to feed one to each anemone. Problem is, the shrimp are so small, they don't stay fresh long so you don't want to freeze them longer than a month, so you must replenish often.

Ok a little update..he decided to go to the center of the tank and seems happy for now...bought a new phone so a little better to see

I've had my BTA for about 2 months. He hasn't move at all from the rock I set it. So I assume he is happy. But he hasn't grown either. He eats very very slowly when I feed him. When the food touch him, his tentacles don't close up or grab the food; they shrink instead. Does anyone know what's wrong with my BTA? :(
