RBTA bleaching

A few weeks ago I went out of town for 4 days and the weather was very hot for San Diego. I don't have a chiller, and we left the AC off. When I returned home, the water temp was 92 degrees at 10:00pm, so I'm guessing it was a lot hotter during the day. I lost a lot of SPS and most LPS, zoanthids, and anemones loss color. Will they return to their previous bright, vivid colors? I have bought some fans since this.

"Sticky?" Not sure if you are asking if the foot is still attached, but it is. I have two that look just like this and they are eating silversides.

I had a similar thing happen. I was away for a week and left the lights 1/2 on so the tank wouldn't overheat. My bta went from a brownish/ green to neon white/ green. It's been like that for a month and a half, and it's not as white, but it is still such a very very light green. I've been feeding it frequently so it has food while it regains its zooxanthellae. I'm hoping it will recover soon. Good luck.

Oaky thats a good sing.First just leave it alone.Second feed a good food. Now start out with 3 hours of light for a day or so and add one hour every day or so till you reach your full 8 hour light cycle.

It doesn't look like it's a goner... Keep feeding it. So, was keeping the AC on cheaper than replacing the corals?

We had the AC off. I do realize what a great investment a chiller is. Lost more than the cost of one with the amount of sps lost. Hoping living in San Diego and now having AC in the house plus evap fans will keep the temperature down.

I am still running an 8 hour light cycle. Are you saying to cut back and slowly get back to 8 hours? If so, what are the benefits? How will that help the RBTAs and other LPS?
