I know there have been a few discussions of BTAs and their ability to keep bubbles in their tips and if its caused by flow, lighting, food or etc.
Here are two BTAs that are from the same colony. The one in the front is the clone from the one in the back. As you can see one has lost its tips and is bubble-less while the other is 1/2 and 1/2 with bubbles. They get fed the same and the one in the back is usually out more in the light like the other so they are very close in lighting placement. They also get fed the same and with the same general flow in that area. The both also have their foot about 10" back in under the rocks and have stretched out this far for months.
I guess they just bubble up if they feel like it and wont if they dont in my tank.....
