RBTA doesn't have bubble tips anymore

Hi All,
Like the title says, I have a RBTA that is very healthy and has good color, but for some reason the tips are more like a long tentacle anemone now, instead of they bubble tips it had after I bought it. I wasn't sure if I could feed it differently or do something that would bring back the bubble tips? I have 3 150W MH's (14,000K) and 4 PC true actinic bulbs, So it gets enough light for sure. It attached itself into a crevasse in a piece of live rock the day I bought it (4 months ago) and it eats a silverside 2 times a week. Should I try a different food? Other than the tentacle tips it is flourishing in the tank.

I have heard other say the same thing about their RBTA, but mine still has the "bubble" to it after 12 months. I feed it mysis once a week and have LED as lighting. Not sure what cause them not to "bubble."

mine have never had the bubbles. it has cloned itself many many times over the years so it is very healthy.

Yeah I have a gbta that has no bubbles. It seems when I target feed him a lot, he gets his bubbles back.

for a long time i was feeding mine every day and no bubbles. now i feed a medium sized shrimp once a week or so.

I have a bunch in my tank, most are clones from the original. I have two clones right next to each other on the same rock - one has bubbles, one doesn't... go figure!

I have 1 RBTA and 2 GBTAs, all bubble. The GBTAs are recent additions, when I got them from another hobbyist they weren't bubbled. I put them in my tank and presto - bubbled up immediately. I have LED lighting.

I have LED too.

I will say that after I target feed sometimes the bubbles come back, and they also are present sometimes after the lights go out. They really have minds of their own!

When I first got my bta, it was the size of a half dollar and had bubbles. It was also rose colored. As it grew and started splitting, they turned green and long tentacles with no bubbles. Now the btas, about 35+ of them, are still green, and have short bubble tip tentacles. I wonder if it could be due to lighting. Always had MH but tried different brands and color ranges. Also when the btas had long btipless tentacles, I was feeding them regularly with silversides. I don't feed them anymore because that many silversides would wreak havoc on my water quality.

I've had a few BTA that have had no bubble and go into my tank and get bubbles..Also I've sold quite a few roses that when goin into other tanks lost the bubbles. I have had them under MH and now the frag tank has LEDS and always have bubbles. Same with a GBTA I got here about a year ago. Guy I got it from had no bubbles. After a month it got bubbles. Now it's in a friends tank a few weeks in and no bubbles. It's weird I've never had issues but I know a few that have the same prob and read these threads a few times a year.

I've tried to research it in the past with no luck.. I don't think it has anything to do with what type of light though this has been going on longer than LEDs have been in the hobby.Maybe spectrum or parameters.. I would love to know some scientific data saying what causes it though. Hopefully someone has a definite answer but I couldn't find one.

I've had my GBTA for 2 years. Was bubbled for the first two days and then gone ever since. It doesn't seem to be a health indicator though. More research needed.

I think it has something to do with LED lights that make it bubble

Definitely not LEDs. I have LEDs over both my 120 and my nano. I have a RBTA in the nano the size of a dinner plate with no bubbles. I have a smaller one in my 120 that has bubbles.

There is no evidence as to why they do or dont bubble up and its not like you can pick its brain. lol
