RBTA keeps going in sand on its side

I just purchased (3 days ago) a very small RBTA.. just barely bigger than a quarter. at first it kinda roamed around the rock looking for a good home. but when I got home from work today it was in the sand on its side (still alive) where it is at in the tank has very little flow so im sure its comfortable. my question is should I burry its "foot" in the sand so its the body is resting flat on the sand bed? my lfs told me nems were a pain and to just let them do their thing but wanted opinions from others who have had nems longer than me. thanks guys/gals

okay I just moved it to a nice low flow area with good lighting. I just feel bad picking it up seeing how the foot of the nem is the size of my pinky nail and im always worried ill harm it. hopefully he doesn't find his way to the sand again

so its still in the spot that ive put it 2 days ago (put the foot in the crack where to rocks meet) its just not looking like all the other rbta's I see. could be because its the size of a quarter but I dunno. sometimes when I check on it its deflated and other times its not. its "tentacles" are never extended they are always in a ball form.
