RBTA out of water

I am need to know if it is harmful for an RBTA to be out of the water for a few minutes? I just aquired one that is stuck to a large chunk of rock that I do not want in my tank. I could easily break off a piec of the rock but would not want to do so inside my tank. It would only be out of the water for maybe 1 minute max.

Thanks,
Shawn

Thanks for the reply. I actually got it off of the rock in the bag, so it was only out long enough to get it from the bag to the tank.

No problem, i have heard of people doing water changes and the rbta be out of the water for about 5 mins and be fine, and i am not saying go ahead and keep him out of the water that long, just saying that it can be done.

Mine lives up really high and when I do a water change he's out of water. We soak a paper towel in the salt water and wrap him up in it like a little turban so that he doesn't dry out.
So far he's lived there for several months happily. (Well not happily to me, I would rather that he doesn't live on the glass but there's nothing I can do about that.)

They can live for over an hour out of water and be fine(barring any fans blowing on it, MH very close and cooking it), but I don't recommend trying it. They create a mucus to cover their sensitive skin from the elements. Granted, a few minutes should do the trick for whatever you are trying, but they are hardy anemones. Besides, if they are really unhappy, they'll move lower into the water if need be.
