RBTA question

I recently got a RBTA from a fellow reefer. It's about 8" wide when fully open and it was getting ready to split when I purchased it. It moved a few times since I put it in my tank which I know is common with BTAs. It finally split the other day about a week after I purchased it and since the split it fully opens to its max size and then a few hours later retracts inside the rock work. The mouth is still tightly closed and it hasn't expelled anything (that I noticed) and still looks healty but it just acts strange. Is this normal? Thanks in advance

Yea that's what I figured and I'm in no rush for it to come out I just wanted to see if its normal for bta's to act strange after a split. Thanks

Thanks man. Although I would have preferred it not splitting, rather have one large RBTA then two medium but oh well lol.
