RBTA Questions

During the day with full light power, my rbta spreads out, and gets thinner. At night with the actinics, it shrinks up and gets really nice bubble tips. Just wondering if this is normal.
Also, it has chosen to put its foot through a half dollar sized hole in the lr. Not sure if that is a great place for it as it grows.

I believe during the day, it stretches out like that to have more surface area, to absorb light. At night it's not absorbing the light, so it doesn't need to do that. Imo.

E. quadricolor prefers to have it's foot somewhere secure, and enclosed where it can retract out of harms way. They will generally always place their foot in a hole in a live rock or in an overhang where they have to stretch out to get to the light.
