RBTA removal

Can someone tell how to get a RBTA off the rock????????

I've been able to get them off by slowing working a fingernail under the edge of the foot, very VERY slowly. I've also torn the foot doing it this way once (I just stopped once I realized it had happened, it healed fine). If the foot is in a deep crevice, that obviously won't work. I wonder if just by moving the rock around if it wouldn't stimulate it to move. I've not had luck in getting them to move by blowing a powerhead over them, but others have. Maybe just set a really expensive new coral just out its reach, it won't be able to resist moving so it can sting it! LOL

I moved it last night came home and it still hasn't moved from the rock, I'll try moving it again to see what happens???????

If the BTA is on a smaller rock, use ice method. I've done this a few times and it has worked well. First I pulled the rocked out, then took a cube of ice, and rubbed it around the foot until it let go. I did this with the anenome submerged while the foot and rock was out of the water.

It's on big piece, will it still do it if I rub the ice on it under water???????

I did the ice thing exactly as described above. I killed it. Just sell the anemone with the rock.

a powerhead should work--I've done it many times, but you have to be patient. Blow directly on an edge of the foot. Once that loosens a little you can start to work your finger underneath that edge.
