RC server sketchy today?

Anybody else having problems getting on to RC at times today?

RC is like my 15 second pico-vacation every 15 minutes or so...

We went down for about 15 minutes once around 9:30 pacific time due to a switch failure. That's hardly "every 15 minutes or so..."

In my experience, RC can be flaky from time to time, but I can imagine with the load and sheer content being managed, it is not easy keeping the ship sailing smoothly all the time.

You know, I can find very little about RC, its future direction, planned upgrades/changes, future viability, etc. As an RC supporter, I would really like to know a bit more about that if it is available. As a club, we have come to rely on RC as a primary means of communication and dissemination of information - would be prudent that we at least understand what that involves. Beerguy (et. al), any pointers/direction would be great!

well for starters Mike, we provide this forum to MARS for free. We also have a much better uptime record than your private site. We aim to keep it that way.

Please don't misunderstand my intentions, I am really just looking to see whats in store for me as a personal user and perhaps as a future advertiser. I read through a couple letters from RC showing some phenomenal growth rates, which I think is great! I am just curious as to what the future may hold in terms of new functionality, capacity, etc. to keep up with the demand. If RC publishes this somewhere and I just have not been able to find it, a simple point in the right direction would be most appreciated.

We do have some plans that we hope to implement in fairly short order. I can't give you details yet because they haven't been finalized.
