thanks yes i have a 2 gal fuge...its a hob that i built myself heres a pic of it when i first set it up ive since replaced the culerpa with chaeto and bought a cpr light for it also here is a picture of the monti cap its kinda blurry and i took it about a month ago but it hasnt grown to much bigger since then...and last i took the gsp to my lfs and got 16lbs of lr without gsp and 75.00 store credit!!
nope no cycleing so far!!the lr was cycleing at the lfs for about a month if not longer and they have a pretty sweet system for cycleing lr so i dont think it will cycle and if it does it will be very small in which i think a couple waterchanges will keep it undercontrol!! ive had my clam for about a year and a half it started out about 3" and its about 4" now so its grown quite a bit id say!
I like the newer one over the older. But, I think it would have been nice if you had one larger island and then a 25% or so one next to it. Or even a 50/50 separation. I think those always look more neat, but still looks nice .
I'm just starting out and also have a 75g tank. I'm still in the process of getting all the pieces and equipment. My second question on this forum was going to be "Is a 10g sump/refuge too small for a 75g tank?". After reading your thread I guess you answered that question for me. Thanks.
I was going to hold off on the sump/Refuge until I got everything up and running and had gained a little more experience. But a friend gave me his small tank that he wasn't using anymore. Since I have it I might as well use it. I will now decide if I will use it as a sump or refuge.
thanks for all the comments!! kwikdraw if i was you id do a bigger refugium i just built mine until i can afford to do a sump system in my tank...which will be in the next few weeks but i wanted to get some sort of one set up in the meantime...a small ref is still better than no ref the way i see it!!anyway i will post some close ups of my tank now that all the water has cleared up i was still a little cloudy when i snapped that picture!!!
