re shaving brush sprouts

The last picture is a shaving brush, definitely. I don't know if the things in the first pic are sprouts or not. Mine hasn't spread yet. If they turn out to be babies you should post more pics in a few days. I'm interested in how they progress. The middle picture is a type of halimeda. They are often hitchhikers on live rock. I don't know if it will survive with 18 watts over 10 gallon, but maybe since it is a shallow tank. I do know it needs a good amount calcium. Mine drops some pieces too from time to time. Sometimes those pieces sprout new segments. You can try wedging them in sand or rock and they might attach. Also, as it ages the older parts of the plant will look calcarous and white. That's normal apparently.

I'm just getting started with macro algaes, so I'm not an expert, but I've found a lot of info online.

I dont see any pics but if you have shaving brush plants they will sprout small babies right around the big plant...they do can do this in just about a week or so..atleast mine did..
