I'm looking to buy a tank this friday but wanted to go with Star Board instead of sand. Seems to me that this was just getting popular when I last left the hobby. Any good sources nearby? Maybe I should do a thin layer of sane instead? what are your ideas?

Meanwhile I want to start looking for some more stuff- MHs, pumps, LR, etc.

Any an all help would be appreciated. I plan on doing the stoney route....

I've got a 72 bow setup I'll make you a heck of a deal on if you're interested. (It's sitting on my porch...) How big are you looking for?

I have used starboard before - it's pretty, but gets coraline-y. I am running my new 230g bare bottomed at the moment because I am trying to flush all the detritus out of the rock for awhile. My piece came with the tank, but I have a good friend who used it in her tank and I can find out where she got hers.

I did the thin sand layer and it was horriable I went with the star board and order it through World Wide Corals they had it cut to my tanks specs and it arrived within 1 week and fit perfect and I have never had a nitrate promblem again and it looks good! I have seen no negative affects on my fish -corals either

here is a pic of my old 120g tank before Hurricaine Charlie-
