My tank is a 20g with 2 perc clowns and a bubble tip anemone. The temperature in the tank can drop to about 78 in the morning but rise to 82 at the end of the day. Will the temperature changes harm the fish and anemone? or should i set my heater to 80 and just not let the temperature drop below that so that the temperature will only rise 2 degrees.

You can put some cheap clip-on or computer fans that blow across the top of the water to cool down the tank. Will cause more evaporation, but that's how it works. I keep my 120 at 78.5-79.5 and this is what I do to keep it from going over.

That temp swing is fine for those inhabitants. I wouldn't set the heater higher as that may only allow the temp to spike higher during the day. As stated, a small fan will help but will increase evap so be sure to stay on top of it.

^^ this is what I did. Just bumped my heater down to 76 from 78, now it still gets hot during the day but not past 80.

Have my heater at 80 degree and a fan blow across the water that turn on with the light. My tank is at constant 80 degree.
