Really strugling getting coral to "stick"

I had a pom pom zenia that I could not get to stick on a rock for more than a day or two. I tried gell super glue and stick epoxy. Seperate and together, a lot and a little. The zenia would detach the next day or so. I could see the indents of where it was attached. In a last ditch effort I took a small rock out of the tank and the zenia. Put a liberal amount of glue on the rock attached the zenia and held for 20ish seconds. Put it back in the tank. And the next morning these was but a rock with super glue. My thought was that the zenia was detaching itself from the glue? I really like zenia and would like to have one stick around.

If you can bind it to the rock to hold it in place until it grabs on sometimes that works. Also let your glue setup a little more before you put it back it the water. Thats why I hate propagating softies.

I wouldnt stick it, those things grow like mad!
lol
but for softies definitely use rubber bands. most time you dont need glue, the softie will grow over the rubberband or once it attaches to rock just remove band

xenia do not have a "foot" so if you want them to "stick" to anything you need them to stay in that place for an extended period of time so the can actually grow onto the rock. rubber bands or fishing line work great but it can take up to two weeks for the attachment to happen so be patient.

Another thing that has worked for us...we've put some coarse gravel and rubble in a little mesh basket down in the fuge in low flow. Just drop your softies down there and they will adhere to the gravel or bits in a week or so. Then just glue the little rocky stuff with your softy to wherever you want.

I like this. Great idea.

I still have 2 rubber bands holding things in place to make sure they are "happy". I like the idea of gravel or bits, then glue those.
