I have a 24x24 cube that will be sps dominate tank with a few lps/zoas and would like to keep a small school/group of active fish.

My priority with this group is they are active and always in the open. My challenge is that most fish known for this require a large tank.

Some I have considered are;

Blue Reef Chromis- nice blue active fish but worry about aggression, fairly expensive for a Chromis.

Green Reef Chromis- reputation in a group questionable, concerns with health on purchase, but very active

Azure Damsel- very pretty active fish, but its a DAMSEL!!:mad2:

Similar Damsel- Nice looking fish, don't know a lot about it other than its a DAMSEL!!:mad2:

Anthias- A long time favorite of mine, love to watch them swim, but is my tank size suitable for any?

Wrasse- Another active , colorful fish, would do nice in a group of three, some can be really expensive, as of now my tank is uncovered

Any other good choices?

I personally like wrasse and would rather get a screen cover for the tip of the tank.

You'll feel a lot better as most fish can jump and you wouldn't want to find your favourite fish on the floor.

The larger species, no; but a group of resplendents, for example, would be fine. I have a group of 11 in my tank, and although the tank is large, the anthias never stray far from their spot.

Really like the Resplendents but would like a group of three. Would my tank be suitable for 3? What is their reputation for jumping? I know all fish could jump but want to avoid the known jumpers.

I have really enjoyed my Bartlett's anthias....I hesitated because of the price but their bright colors really pop out at you.

Screen top is essential equipment for anthias and wrasses. 24" cube would be fine for three, or eve more. A bit tight for bartletts though.

Azure damsels are beautiful, and not very aggressive. I had one in a 55 gallon for years. I would just get one and add it after more peaceful fish.
