Rebuilding DC8

so I have a system that I have been using for about a year. it is a Jr. with a DC8 hooked to it. I run everything through it. lights, heater, pump, etc.

about 1 week ago it started not turning stuff off.
unplug for a few seconds. plug it back it everhthing is off and things turn back on and then it work correctly. Now I bought this unit used so I am thinking that is it is just warn out. It does not respond to manual input controls either. I have tried changing the plugs around because I was reading that outlet 4 and 8 are mechanical and you do not want to draw a lot of power through them. I am only using a T5 set up though with 8 bulbs. 2 for one outlet that are blues and 6 on the other. I really do not think it is overloading it if it were new.

Has anyone rebuilt these? are there standard relays in them that the contacts can be cleaned or replaced?

any input would be great. I really do not want to buy a replacement.
thanks

I had problems with my T5 ballasts interfering with the signals and my outlets were acting like what you describe. Maybe try removing everything from the DC8 and test each outlet with a regular lamp before you rip the unit apart.

What did you do to resolve it? I thought of that and that could be what is happening but it is weird why it would start all of the sudden I guess I sill hook them up on outlet timers and see if that works

I solved it by getting rid of my T5's. I was using them for actinic supplementation and switched to blue a ReefBrite LED strip.
