Well I finally found a killer deal on a 90RR tank. Tank, Stand, Sump, Mag7, all coral and liverock for $100. I am pumped!
Once I got teh tank home, I noticed that the silicone seal was going bad, so I have decided to dismantle the tank completely and reseal the entire thing. The tank is an All-Glass (I believe) with older style corner overflow, bottom drilled.
My real conscern at this point is that the center brace has begun to crack where it meets the front and back. I really doubt that I am going to be able to remove it without breaking it.
My options are to try and find a replacement trim/brace, do some sort of brace replacement, or attempt a DIY eurobrace; non of which I have any clue about attempting. I'm not sure where to get a replacement (though I have called some shops and they are "looking into it") and I am not sure about an approach to remove the center brace and add something else. (possibly making a whole new trim piece myself.
Do any of you locals have any ideas, either where to get a trim, or how to rebuild the bracing?
