Recalibrating pH probe

I am starting my CO2 scrubber today and am recalibrating my probe through my Reef Keeper. How long should I let the numbers settle before entering it for the setting? If I let the probe sit the numbers just keep shifting in one direction and never settle in a small range for any length of time over 1-3 seconds.

Anyone else have this same issue? Could my probe have died at the exact moment it shouldn't have? Murphy's law? lol

After a couple minutes it should stop and stay within a few decimal points, a little variation is normal. If it doesn't stay consistent within a few hundredths, I'd consider buying a new one. I think more importantly, is that they give a trend. They can say 6.5, but the ph could actually be 6.3, but if it's consistent you can still trend with it. It's a bit of a Zen thing sometimes, but new probes are cheap if it provides peace of mind:D

It’s weird. The numbers do not settle but when the calibration is finished and I test the probe in the calibration RO it reads fine. I did it three times with the last giving the numbers over ten minutes to stop dropping.

At this point my pH is reading 7.9-8ish steady. No discernible difference in the readings after 24 hours running the scrubber. The tank looked happy (all that matters) today so I’ve got that going for me.

I guess I’ll just take it day by day and see how it plays out.
