I've got an aquasafe RO/DI system and it came with a mixed bed DI canister. The resin is color changing Purolite resin.
I think the resin is fully used since I'm getting the same TDS pre and post DI...
At this point the resins seem to have separated out in the canister (I mounted it vertically) with a layer of orange on top and another dark layer (dark greeny/blue) below it.
I presume that the anion and cation resins have separated out and that's why I get the different layers? Does anyone know which color would be what?
Has anyone ever tried recharging this kind of mixed bed resin? I know some say it's more work than it's worth, but I figured it might be worth giving a try...
I found the instructions at http://www.reefs.org/library/article/twp_recharge.html, but I'm not sure if this is the same process I'd need to use?
