Hi all!

I am downgrading from a 120RR system. I was thinking of getting back into the nano world. I used to have a 24JBJ with pc lighting. My 120 has t5's and I like the coral growth with them. I have never had MH or LED's and thought I might try that.

What tank and lights does everyone suggest or like? I like having a variety of corals with a little bit of everything.

I have a 28 nano I really liked the MH for fast growth but the heat was to much to deal with in the summer. I now have a tank that is running 42 3 watt LEDs. Great color little to no heat. As far as growth goes I have been making to many changes to notice anything but my Corals are always open and looking great.

what kind of LED light did you buy? any place specific to buy from?

I bought my kit from Nanotuners.com 5.6 retro kit. It is 5 strips of six 3Watt leds I have 15 white and 15 royal blue gives it a nice 14K look and you are able to do sunup and sun down. I will never use anything else again. everything is looking great.

so far i like my coral life 150w hqi i have over my solana. I have it mounted in a hood with fans and a true lumen 453nm led strip. I have a RKL controlling it all with no heat issues so far.

I got a 28g LED about a month ago. In the process of cycling. I really like the clean JBJ look and that you can play with the back chambers without raising hood.

Regarding the lights:

The moonlights are great.

Dusk to dawn lights are very blue.

Full LED are very bright and and do not dim. The stock configuration is all white. Wish JBJ would've staggered a blue/white combo. Someday, I may remove the hood and replace with programmable LED setup as I like tinkering with different color combos.
