I have a list of fish that im planning to get for my new fish tank and was wondering if anyboby has any suggestions?

What kind community or aggressive? What equipment do you have? Any live rock? Are you doing reef or FOWLR? Etc.

first of all im going to ste up a tank this summer, its a community, need an awesome showfish (not tangs, angels, cowfish)

flame hawkfish 1, emperor angelfish 1,diamond watchmen goby1,green banded sleeper goby1,green chromis 5,pygmy angelfish 1,female lyretail anthia 3,swales swissguard bass1,royal gamma 1,starry blenny 1, lawnmower benny 1,kaudern's cardinalfish 5,true percula clownfish 2,firefish 2, scissortail dartfish 2,purple stripe dottyback 1,1green mandarin dragonet ,pinkspotted watchmen goby 1,yashi goby 1, yellow stripe clingfish ,yellow tang (already have it),blue tang 1, kole tang 1,hawaiian cleaner wrasse 2,scoott's fairy wrasse 1,mccosker's flasher wrasse 1,white banded possum wrasse 1,christmas wrasse 1, mono (already have it),scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp 1,linka sea star 1,fathead sunburst anthia 2,starki damsel 2,flaming prawn goby 1,african blue star leopard wrasse 1, Well this is my plan so far, the reason why i took off a lot of the major showfish is that i alredy have them in my list

flame hawkfish 1,

Not shrimp safe
emperor angelfish 1

Not reef safe, more towards LPS

,diamond watchmen goby1,green banded sleeper goby1,green chromis 5,

Will likely winnow themselves down to one
pygmy angelfish 1,female lyretail anthia 3,swales swissguard bass1,royal gamma 1,starry blenny 1, lawnmower benny 1,kaudern's cardinalfish 5

Five will not survive; if you have two and they are a bonded M+F that is the most you can have
,true percula clownfish 2,firefish 2

Again, need to be a bonded M+F pair for longer term survival

scissortail dartfish 2,purple stripe dottyback 1

Mean fish, will not do well with flasher and fairy wrasses

,1green mandarin dragonet ,pinkspotted watchmen goby 1,yashi goby 1, yellow stripe clingfish ,yellow tang (already have it),blue tang 1, kole tang 1,hawaiian cleaner wrasse 2

Will not do well with 2 and cleaner wrasse have a poor survival record except african
,scoott's fairy wrasse 1

Very aggressive, will not do well with flasher wrasses or dottyback
,mccosker's flasher wrasse 1

Will not do well with scott's or with any dottyback
,white banded possum wrasse 1,christmas wrasse 1

Not reef safe
, mono (already have it),scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp 1

Will be eaten by your hawkfish

,linka sea star 1

In the long run, will starve

,fathead sunburst anthia 2,starki damsel 2,flaming prawn goby 1

You will never see this fish in that sized tank
,african blue star leopard wrasse 1, Well this is my plan so far, the reason why i took off a lot of the major showfish is that i alredy have them in my list

Oh, and by the way, there are some other potential negative interactions on this list that I have not mentioned

Now that a very large majority of the fish i choose will not do well together what is a list of fish that will do well with each other, plus i have to get my baby yellow tang out of a 29 gallon tank really fast before it starts to stress. they also need to be coral safe.

Unfortunately, the personality of the fish (usually can be imputed from the ecological niche it occupies) needs to be considered. Sometimes it is trial and error (been there, done that) so that fish you think will go well together will not. Then, of course, tank size matters. Larger tanks (300 is not really a large tank, more a medium tank) can sometimes obviate problems that would otherwise occur in smaller tanks.

My advice is to pick a strategy: FO, FOWLR, Reef Tank LPS, Reef Tank SPS, Reef tank mixed, and then and only then, figure out what fish will go well in that environment. My priority (in my personal tanks) is corals with fish secondary. Yours may be fish first, and what does not get eaten secondary.
