Recommend a center piece coral?

Hi it is nearing black friday and my LFS is doing a week long sale. I absolutely love this coral (Is there a more specific name for this other than doughnut coral)


It is going for $160 is that a good price? It is a bit steep for me but if it's a good value i'll buy it. Otherwise anyone else recommend a beautiful looking center piece? It'll be placed in the middle of my tank on the substrate. Thanks

$160 isn't terrible depending on the coloring and how rare. I've seen some going for $600
I think it would be worth it. $160 isn't bad if its gonna be your prized coral.

id say that's about 2.5-3 in across. And the holographic coloring is awesome on that

I'm pretty sure that's either a Scolly or a Meat coral and not an Acan. $160 is a fair price

That looks like an Acanthophyllia deshayesiana which is also called a doughnut coral. They grow up to 4" and that beautiful specimen is certainly worth the price.

Dkuhlmann, you are confusing acanthophyllia with acanthastrea.
