Recommend a skimmer for a 210 please

Hello all

I am in process of setting up a 210 and bought a eshopps 300 sump. Skimmer footprint should be less than 15"x15". Anyone have any recommendations?

I’d get the ASM-G4XX. I love ASM, simple and easy to use and very effective. In my opinion. I go large too, it’s rated for 450 gallons, but it’s 13x14 footprint. It is 30” high though.

Regardless of brand, good tech support people will talk you out of buying one of their skimmers that are over-sized for your system. Over-sized skimmers will work well for a while and then when the water gets really clean, skimmate production drops to next to nothing. A steady skimmate production every day is better than highs and lows over time. Instead, get a right sized skimmer and take your savings and buy an Avast Marine Davey Jones Skimmate locker (or similar). Those lockers with their auto skimmer shutoff sensors are the bomb. You can go a long period of time without having to clean out your skimmer cup with those on your system. For ultra low maintenance, you can beat a locker.

True, but I guess it depends. I feed a lot. I consistently have the same amount of skimmate for years now. Always gets cleaned once/twice a week if I’m not lazy.
