Recommendation for lighting a 190

Hi I am hoping to solicit some opinions from the more experienced spa keepers on my lighting plan for the 190 I just ordered the dimensions are 60"x27"x27".

I am currently leaning toward 2 lumenarc elite fixtures running radium bulbs. I haven't used the lumenarc elites before so I'm not sure if I should be looking at 3 of them instead of 2.

I would look at lumen bright mini wides or larges. I don't think the lumenmax elite covers any better than lumen bright mini's which is a 2'x2' area. Or you could go 3 and it should cover fine.

That's an interesting size for a tank. I haven't seen one before. I'm looking at getting a 180 (72x24x24). Do you mind me asking where you are getting this from?

I'm going to run 400w radiums on my new setup. Not sure about the reflector just yet. I would really like to find a nice looking pendant, something I could show off, and maybe retrofit the inside to have better reflectivity. It's going to be in the family room and I really want it to look nice, not like some pet store fixture. I currently run lumenmax 2's with 250w 12,000k Reeflex on my 125.

Best of luck on your new set up.

Its a deep sea aquatics 190. I saw a few of their tanks at my LFS and the quality seemed great and the 5' length will fit my room well. I'm planning to conceal the pendants behind a 3 sided box I'll attach to the wall.

Thanks I'll have to look around for the lumen brights.

i got DSA's 185(60X30X24) right before they move on to 190.
ATI 8 bulbs. i am happy with the color and no heat.

I just got the 3 Coralvue Lumen Bright Large Pendents with 250w 12k Reeflux bulbs and a selectable watt 250/400w Luxcore electronic ballasts incase I wanted to go to 400w later down the road. All I can say is I love them. The Reeflux 12k give great color, a little bit of blue, with the growth of a 10k. The pendants a really nice quality and massive at 20-1/8" across and also have a glass cover to prevent splashing on the reflector. The thing I like most about these is I have them about 17" up, from the waterline to the bulb so there is plenty of room to get in there and work. They also put out a ton of light and I'm looking at moving them up further. The only thing I would change is I would have gone with the mini's or the mini wides instead of the large.

Also, with them being that high I don't have any heat issues. I have them same, if not lower temperatures compared to my marineland proseries 72" fixture with 8 t5's and 3 150w mh's.

here's a really good article on the Lumen Brights:
