i have an AP 24. i would like to have a light tide effect/ current flow and controlable. but dont want to blast things around. what would you recommend?
ty in advance

what would you think of adding the nano wave box 6206.000 to the AP 24? have you seen or heard of this type of application into the AP 24? also in regard to the 6206. can the 7091 be used in place of the 6091 controller? i was thinking about controlling the output of the wave box a bit more?
.
i am also wondering about the 6055 you have recommended. the operating instructions state that i am limited to 30% power at its lowest setting. if this is true, then in night mode will it get any lower?

Someone asked about putting it on a Red Sea Max and this was Rogers thoughts
"The Nano Wavebox may work on a 24" tank but I have not personally tried it. I would wait until someone has tried it."

You could use the 6091 thought like you mentioned.

On night mode the controllers put the pumps down to 30% this is the lowest speed the pumps can run.

sorry I was thinking opposite of you, orignally suggesting using the 7091 single controller. Then secondly I read you question as could you use the wavebox controller on the 6055 pump.

The 7091 does not ever stop the pump it slows and speeds the pump while the 6091 pulses the pump on and off as quickly as I think .3 seconds and I think the longest is like 2 seconds.

Man, somebody needs to get one for the AP 24 and report back! I would love to have one for my ap 24!

thats good to know shawnz28.
do the pumps have to be specifically rated for on and off operation like the one used for the nano wave box? can the 6055 be pulsed like that without suffering from the "clicking" during start-up?

The nano wavebox 6206 will work on the AP24 but you may have to dial the wave down a bit. How do i know? I did not use the actual nano wavebox 6206 but i did use the 6055 in an DIY box and it works very well....

The wave didn't lap over the top of the AP edge? Do you think it can be dialed down enough? Man, if you think it will work I will buy one, I just don't want to be out $378 bucks, but, dang, it sure would be sweet to have one of these bad boys in this tank!!!! Thanks so much in advance for your insight!

Wowzer, you can dial down enough to notice the wave but not splashing the water out of the tank. Couple thing you can do to help getting bigger wave without having water all over your floor

1. lower the water level

2. Enlarge the overflow screen. How? cut it :D

3. If the return pump is TOO strong. Get a smaller pump like MJ900 - 1200. This way the water level will drop a bit to compensate the heigh of the wave.

If you want to make sure it is going to work before spending the money. Get a tubber ware container with similar dimension with the nano 6206 or a bit larger that is ok. Cut a hole on the side of the container to perfectly fit the pump nozzle, Cut the top of the tubber ware so you can fit your hand inside to mount the pump (I hope you have a small hand :D). Once you have the pump properly seated inside the container, stick the container inside your AP24 against the back wall. Hook up the 6091 controller to the pump, have a friend, wife, son or daughter to hold the box while you try to dial in the wave.... :D. It is a lot of work but its fun . I think soon enough Roger will banned me from using tunze because i try to do crazy thing with it.

Awesome! I will lower the water level an inch or so, dial the pump down a bit, and BUY THE TUNZE!!!! Thanks so much for your help!!! Man, I am excited now, and I have just enough room to fit this in without having to remove all my rock! Thanks again, gosh, I really appreciate it, and I will report back with a picture when I get it!

what i was specifically looking for is not necessarily a wave action, but rather a tidal surge flow. would it still behave the same? or am i still better off without the wave box and just using one of the smaller tunzes.

It is the same wave pattern with regular tank or regular wavebox if that is what you want to know. You can have the combo of wavebox and tunze nano if you are going to keep SPS.
