While my 500g tank will again be SPS dominant, I would like to sprinkle in some LPS specimens for visual interest and, if possible, movement. The lighting is provided by multiple 400W MH pendants but the tank is 36" deep and the plan was to place most of the LPS on the (bare)bottom, under ledges. High flow may also be an issue but there are nooks and crannies I can work with in that regard. Any thoughts on what thrives under higher lighting conditions such as this?

Branching Hammers and Frogspawns will thrive in just about any lighting condition provided the flow does not rip them apart or is direct. They will adapt well. Any of the brains, especially the Maze and Favias etc... Just be wary of the tentacles, especailly with the brains. Mine looked like a medussa with sweepers about 6 or 7 inches long for a few months until it settled down. Now they never come out and its grown quite a bit and was directly under 750W of MH about half way up a 28D tank. In the new LPS tank its about 6" under water, directly under the ATI 6x39W T-5. Candycanes will do well too...

Probably the best high flow LPS are the Faviids like Platygyra, leptoria, Goniastrea and the like. Some others like favia and favites are not as high light but may be acclimated over time. The super best one would be Australogyra zelli, aka branching moon but finding a nice healthy specimen is harder than trying to nail jello to a wall.
