recommendations on RO/DI units?

Can I get some recommendations on RO/DI units from Air, Water, & Ice, Inc? I won that great gift certificate at the swap and its burning a hole in my pocket already. It was great to meet all of you and Congratulations Mel!

And on a side note I will be looking for a skimmer, light, live rock and sand for the new 150 gal that I bought last night. If you have anything send me a PM. If you have any suggestions on any of the above mentioned items I would appreciate that as well. Thanks!

Kim...I was thinking I might need some rock and am considering the Premium Aquatics Fiji rock if you want to go in on some with me. I live out right off Chapman Hwy (near the first Kroger as you leave downtown)...not sure where that is in relation to you but we could always meet in town.

I just can't figure out what the difference is btw the 75 gpd and 100 gpd. I think they're even the same price.

Mel~ Depending on when you order the rock... I might jump in with you...

They say not to use the single 100 gpd membrane for reef applications... You want to use the one with 2 x 50 gpd membranes if you want a 100 gpd system... I don't know why, but thats what I've read...

I think the rejection rate on 100 gpd is about 90% and for 75 gpd is more like 98%, so 75 gpd give you the lowest TDS out of the membrane.

I have read the same thing about rejection rates and those numbers seem right in line. I too have been looking at AWI units. I was hoping to win. Dang it!!!

The difference between the 100 gpd and the 75 gpd membranes is the rejection rate. The 100 is about 90%, but the 75 is between 96-98%.
IMHO the 75 gpd is a better unit for our uses, as the increased rejection rate will give you lower TDS in the end.
I have been buying my RO/DI supplies from the Filter Guys. They are another sponsor here on RC. I had EXCELLENT service and decent prices from them on both of my orders from them.
