Recommended Medication

I recently had a royal gramma come down with severe ich. It was living with two clowns and two bangaii cardinals. All had been treated for a month at the small LFS, but ich must have snuck through. I'm in the process of setting up a hospital tank. I'm hoping to get a medication recommended for the ich and should I consider treating for anything else while they are isolated?

What about future inhabitants? If I leave the tank up to quarantine is there a standard treatment for incoming fish.

I would treat ALL of your fish with Cupramine or chloroquinine phosphate. Your DT will have to remain fishless (corals & other inverts can stay) for about 12 weeks. I'd also worm the fish with Prazi-Pro after the ich treatment period. If you decide to go this route; I'd re-post for help. there are a lot of little quirks and 'must knows" when using copper ( Cupramine). Here's a great ich primer, from the stickies above. You'll find lots of great info there.http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1992196

I've never seen any LFS that adequately quarantines fish. that's our job. Get your own QT and use it religiously; it will make the hobby much more enjoyable. I honestly don't know anyone in this hobby, who I would ask for advice, who doesn't always QT.

chloroquine phosphate (using diphosphate, imc) and prazi are both great meds to start off your QT process with.
