Recon: Underwater Paradise

Had to run to Oroville yesterday so we (daughter Katie & I) used it as an excuse to recon 'Underwater Paradise' in Marysville.

Nice little shop. Only open for a few months, but decent selection. Of 4 good sized prop-style frag tanks, 1 was crammed w/zoos, 1 full of sticks and oddballs/rarities, other 2 mixed softies/LPS. Some fish tanks, seemed like fish stock was low. Tanks and specimens clean and healthy. Some dry stuff, which I would imagine could save a reefers tank in a town like M'ville where reef supplies might otherwise be sparse. A little clutter here and there, but getting started, you know? Rob seemed to be knowlegeable and familiar with our MARS community and the LFSs in our area. Was honest and fair. Decent prices. His kid was there trying to 'help', which I respect bein' a family guy and all. Worth a look.

Thanks for the Kind words. It was great meeting you and the little one.
We are still getting our feet wet and have a lot of space for improvements, more tanks and dry goods. I'm constantly changing/moving things and had 2 orders come in yesterday so the shop was a mess and the SW fish stock was a lil low. I'm too picky with ordering my fish so I tend to run a lil low sometimes. Look forward to talking again.

I agree! Robs store is going to FANTASTIC! Already hit the ground running with great odds and ends a lil something for everyone and the collector. Still ways from being complete, but when it is, it's definately going to carry some WOW factor to it. Went last weekend, and wont be able to go back because of mother's day weekend, but am definately going the next! HOLD on to that piece for me brother! You know,... Mr. insanely pink ;)

I've been to Rob's place a few times now, and he has always been very friendly and extremely helpful. I've pick up four very nice zoa frags, cleaner shrimp, snails, and a few other odds and ends, and they are all still doing very well in my tanks. On a related topic, his zoas are very inexpensive, as well as being very healthy and vibrant; where else can you pick up nicely colored zoa frags for less than $1 a polyp?

I'll definitely be going back for more.
