Recovery time after freshwater dip?

I just freshwater dipped my crocea on saturday and now, monday, it is still exhibiting a pinched mantle. How long has it taken for those of you who have done the freshwater dip? I performed mine after the lights went off and dipped for 30 minutes and the next day when the halides came on, the mantle extended more than before with a little gaping, but the section of the mantle that was pinching is pulled in even more... anyone else with experience, please advise! Thanks!

I did not have that experience. After less than 24 hours the two clams that were most pinched both looked perfect. The other clams all looked great as well, except for the Derasa, which took about two days to look happy again.

Do you have multiple clams in the same tank? If yes, did you treat all of your clams at once?

i have another large squamosa that is probably a foot away from the crocea and is showing no signs of pinching... from what I have been reading the pinching is not necessarily transmitted through water flow but proximity to other clams and it seems to be the case here... today the crocea was exhibiting less pinching, but I'll have to see tonight as that's when it is more pronounced. How long do you think I should wait before dipping again?

Personally, I'd wait a few days to let the clam recover from the stress of the dip. I didn't have to dip a second time, so I can't say from experience. Perhaps Ming or one of the others who have will spot this and speak up.
