Red Adjusting Knob?

Hey Folks...

I am a first time adjustable Tunze powerhead user and have a couple questions for Roger or anyone else in the know.

What are the minimum settings represented by the small red adjustment knob on the power supply control box? I noticed when turned to the minimum setting it doesn't turn the powerhead off but rather slows it down significantly. I am using a 6255 if that makes a difference.

Can I use the adjustment knob to limit the max power my pump will run at regardless of the settings used on my controller? Ex. If I set the red knob on the power supply to 50% and set my controller to run at 100% will the powerhead actually run at 100% or 50% of its max?

Thank you in advance for your help.:)

I'm pretty sure the min by the red knob is 30% which is also the lowest you can set the pumps with the software (7096 controller).

The recommendation has always been to run the knob at 100% and let the controller determine the percentage if you have one.

If you do turn the knob all the way down then the controller at 100% is only 30% of the pumps capacity. If you turn your controller down you could run less than the recommended 30% which I believe may damage your pump.

Thanks Macca. Based upon what I have read so far I would agree with you. I just want to make sure I am operating the pumps within their limits.

If you are using a controller, the knob must be at 100%, if it is turned down the pump can stall and behave erratically. This adjustment is only for use with no controller, the range is 30-100%.
