Red Algae Overload! Need Good Cleaner

I have a problem with red and green algae in my 29 gallon biocube that does not seem to be going away with reduced feeding and water changes. I was just wondering what reef safe fish/invert would be the one to munch down on this stuff. it is the red algae that is a slime type substance and the green one is the same/ hair algae. Any help will work thank you

Algae grows with water, nutrients and light. Gotta have the water, lighting needs to be monitored but nutrients is where you can make the biggest difference. I would look at your tank in an overall fashion to make sure that there is good flow and no dead spots. Water changes can hurt or help depending on the water and would test it for phosphates before using... even the lfs DI and RO systems can go bad without someone noticing or have a faulty sensor. Also, do you have a refugium and/or skimmer? I too like snails to feed on it but I would advise to look towards the source rather than the symptom.

A fish won't help your situation. It sounds like you have cyano, which nothing eats & hair algae.

What size is your tank? What's in it? What are your parameters & lighting schedule? Are you using rodi water?

There are a few variety of conch snails that eat cyano on the sand, but identifying the cause is still the best course.

Also, how long has the tank been setup? I have found in tanks somewhere between the 6-12week mark tanks are prone to some kind of algae outbreak.
