red algae

Sounds like cyano. Need to know:

How much flow do you have?
Do you run a skimmer?
Do you use RO/DI or tap?
What are your nitrate and phosphate levels?

:)

Cyano bacteria is a pain in the rear. Once it gets a foothold, it can be difficult to get rid of. I found in my tanks that it was usually due to a few things. Overfeeding, not using RO/DI water and not enough flow. Reducing my feedings and increasing flow in the affected areas cured it fairly quickly. Once I got an RO/DI unit, it helped a lot as well.
