I bought this red and green war coral from a LFS on 7/25/2013, it was said that this particular frag had been in the store for a while (2+ months) and grew well while they had it. My parameters have been fairly constant since it has went into the tank, other than my nitrates being slightly higher when coral was first placed into tank. Coral has looked great the little over 1 month it has been in tank, green tag or whatever that plastic deal is on all my frags (little square green plastic deal) was completely visible on purchase and is now nearly covered over and spreading onto rock it sits on. Now however, I have weird tan to off white growth on some sections of the coral. That green brain looking coral next to it had a wierd scabby growth on it at the LFS which was pretty dark reddish-rusty color so I got a good deal on it. The growth has since shrunk in size and lightened in color which believes me to believe that spot is healing. Not sure what type of coral it is, I think some type of favite but not too sure. I do know that the unidentified green favite looking color has some pretty long tentacles that come out at night, so perhaps the corals are too close and the war coral is getting stung excessively? Pictures below, any help with a cause and way to fix it would be great. Total white chunk seen on bottom right of red and green war coral is substrate that was blown up, not part of the issue I am having to avoid confusion.
