Red around polyps

Got some clove polyps and noticed that the area around where they are is turning red, is this normal?

Are you feeding them?
I was over feeding my frogspawn with reef roids and had red cyano bacteria growing around them.

Don't feed them, they take what's in the water only and the light. I don't dose with anything.

Is that how they spread, I seem to remember that they almost lay a carpet down before spreading?

I've had similar corals that have done the same thing where there will be cyano growing around the base. Keep an eye on tank nutrient levels,but in reality it's more of an eyesore than major problem.
