Red base on toadstool question?

Hi all I have had this yellow toadstool in my cube for about a year now when I first got him he was about a base ball size and stayed this way up until about 2 weeks ago now he has shrunk to about a golf ball size over last couple weeks I have also noticed red forming along the base of him that has never been there before I'm curious to see if anyone has any opinion on this as I am stumped all levels test great and all other corals doing well only issue is with this toadstool any help would be great that's guys for the help!!!! :D

It doesn't look like there is anymore of the red stuff anywhere else at least in this picture. Do you have it anywhere else in your tank?

If not I don't think it's cyano, more like some fungal growing on the base, might need to do a dip in iodine to kill it off.
 
Haven't tried scrubbing it been watching it to see if it's spreading..... No cyano in tank at all tank very clean will try to scrub tonite and do a dip and see how it reacts thanks guys!!!
 
With having to scrub it, it will be po'd for a while so don't be upset if it stays clammed up for a while. Just place it in a moderate/strong lighting with strong flow. Once it opens don't be surprised if it sheds. Like Cloak said they can be temperamental at times LOL most of the time if they are messed with.
