Red/Blue Hornet placement

so i've been having trouble getting my blue/red hornets to fully open up. i have 2 small frags of each(2 polyps per) and they barely hopen up halfway. all other zoas/palys open up just fine. i've placed these all over the tank to try and find a 'sweet spot' but i get frustrated after a few days and end up moving them again. anyone know if they're low light, high light, shade?

i've had them for close to 2 months and started them at the bottom then after about a week started moving them around the tank. they don't look bad, they just wont fully open.

I have mine in fairly low light and they are doing well. I have 250 watt halides though. Not sure how that compares with the 4 t5s.

You are moving them too much. Some frags may take a couple weeks to adjust or even just open properly. Leave them at the bottom of the tank. Let them acclimate. Once they start opening up they will tell you if they need more light or not. Its not the morph that determines where you put the frag. Even the same morphs may prefer different lighting. As I stated to another poster not too long ago. I have 2 frags of blue hornets from different reefers and one requires intensive light while the other will tolerate nothing outside of shade. Let the frag tell you where it wants to be and you will be much more successful with zoa's/palys. This is all assuming your water is good, which appears to be fine.
