I have a Red Open Brain coral I've had for about ten days. It still hase'nt opened yet. I had it on the bottom in the light. The LFS told me to move it to a spot in the shade which I did yesterday.
How long does it normally take to acclimate to a new environment?
I have 260 watts daylight and actinic lights.

All I did was float it to eqalize to temperature..Is that where I went wrong?
Do you think it will be ok?

It might be. On a piece like that it would have been a little better to acclimate it a little slower, like a drip acclimation or if you don't drip at least use a turkey baster and squirt a little water in the bag every 5-10 mins. or so. Do that for about 1/2 hr. When I first got mine it took some time but now it is a nice lookin piece. Feed it meaty foods when you see the feeding tenacles out. Mine likes pieces of silversides and krill. It is nothing for it to eat 2 pieces of krill. Put him a spot of good light and medium flow.

fuzz94,
Thanks for the reply.
I have 260 watts pc's (Coralife Lunar Aqua Light). Do you think this light is satisfactory?

yeah that is what i have in my tank. Keep him on the sandbed so he can stretch out. I am having a problem with my pics. resizing. I am trying to put a before and after pic. The brain I have has been in my tank a year now. It was a slow process.Click on my gallery and you will see it in there. I will try another pic. resizing program and see if I can't get a new photo up.

yeah that is what we used to have then we lost all the files on our computer. Now when I download it and go to install it it tells me it can't right the file???? I don't know this frakin computer has me to my wits end.
